  1. I do not have the Asus eee,but I have got a brilliant little Linux distro that was put together for it.The distro(Linux geek speak for distribution) is called Pupeee & is simply a customized version of the Puppy Linux v.3.01 distro. It is highly recommended & is simply brilliant as a live cd,with everything working “out of the box”.If you were to purchase the Asus eee then serious consideration should be given to this alternative OS. Pupeee Linux is based on Puppy Linux 3.01 and built just for the Asus Eeepc. All the needed drivers come preloaded for the screen resolution, sound, mic, wecam, ethernet port, and wireless card.
Many programs are included such as Audacity, Skype, Gtkpod, Xmms, Xine, and the Seamonky web browser. There are even applications for bit-torrent, and VNC. All of this in 139MB. It works great on other X86 computers as well.http://linux.softpedia.com/get/System/Op…

  2. the laptop is good but i would recomend putting xp on it as the operating system is a bit basic, the only problem i have with it is the screen is a touch too small for internet explorer but youu can scroll down so not too bad

  3. Saw a child using it in a bar in the French Alps last week; they seem to be very easy to use and well designed. If all you want out of a computer is web browsing, media playback and office programs, then it’s perfect, but the lack of hard drive storage and a CD Drive lets it down a bit. In reality, you’d probably want another computer for doing things that you can’t do with the Asus Eee.

  4. Hey, i don’t have it but i was considering it, but i decided to go with the dell d410 instead, i got it off ebay, it cost 2 years ago £1000+ new but many are going for around £200 used (what i got). They are brilliant laptops, small, light, long battery life. I definatly recommend these, try find one with !.7Ghz centrino, 1gb ram and you should be fine. They are bigger than the eee pc but much, smaller than a normal laptop, similar to the size of the vaio you saw last night.

  5. yeah, put xp on it.although they are releasing new models.or the 7′ will come with xp standard and there will be a 8.9(9) inch screen in a few months.im waiting till then to get the one with the 9’screen.
