Apple can only track your Mac down if you orginally registered your details with them when you first bought your Mac and went through the registration process before you did anything else. As the poster above me said, if the new “owner” wiped the hard drive – your screwed.
There’s a program call lojack that apple sells. It’s not 100% so if someone let say did stole it from you and used it as it is Yes as long as he’s on the internet providing that you are using that service. It simply puts something in your system to track it. However if they were smart enough they would wipe your entire system and that software is totally useless. So until they put a physical tracking chip on the computer no one can track it. They can only black list it on apple’s end that’s about it.
