Compare Asus Eee Pc To A Laptop With Wireless Internet?

Other than size and memory, what is the difference between an EEE PC and a laptop? Why would I buy an EEE PC and not a laptop? Does it have special internet advantages? Does it work in places that a laptop wouldn’t? Would it work overseas in countries like Bangladesh?
I am thinking of buying one for my son for his upcoming birthday, but want to learn more before I buy.
Also, where do I buy one in Toronto? Is The Source the only place that sells this? Is ASUS the only brand of this product?

  1. Asus is the only maker of the EEE pc. The processor however is a little under-powered and of course it lacks a CD drive. It is nice and tiny which also means the battery life is shorter than a normal laptop. If you want to actually do work instead of just checking email or taking notes in meetings/classes then I’d say get a normal laptop.
