i want to connect my macbook in order to watch movies i have saved on my macbook and watch them on my tv. it is an lg lcd tv with hd. suggestions of cables etc required

You will need a mini-DVI to DVI adaptor for the MacBook (assuming it isn’t the new Aluminum one released last weekm, those require a DisplayPort to DVI adaptor) Then you need a DVI to HDMI cable. As well, you will need to hook up speakers to the Mac, or run an audio cable from the Mac headphone output to your TV or sound system.

If your LCD TV has a VGA port (as many do), you can also use a DVI to VGA adapter for your MacBook and then use a VGA cable to connect to your TV.
You will also need to connect the sound output (headphone jack) to the TV with another cable. I usually search online for the best deal on cables and connectors.
