Is Asus Eee Pc Slow???

So I was wondering, is Asus EEE PC system compatible with any PC programs?
What about piracy?
Does the low system can make its operation slow too?
And does anybody know where can I get Asus EEE PC with the lowest price?
Actually I’m still waiting for the 900 series, but its price is about $600… Not so worth it with the tiny drive space, rite?
Oh, and thanks.

  1. I am running XP Pro stripped down with Nlite on a 4G Eeepc, I have had it running with a 25 second startup and 10 second shutdown. The total install including all updates is under 1GB and I have upgraded the RAM to 1GB and disabled the page file. Check out Eeeuser for some great advice on installing Windows/Linux on these machines. All applications are on an 8GB SDHC card (with about 5GB still free) and run as quick as on my 1.3GHZ laptop. It is now at about 45 second startup running various extras on startup including antivirus, screen scaler and a processer overclocker. I run Photoshop on it and have GTA3, Deus Ex and the SIMS all running with no problems – just upgrade the RAM and use an external HDD for storage. As for best price, try eBay or head down to your local store, prices seem to be about the same everywhere.

  2. For sure it’s not the big bright game star :)
Anyway – you coud run software for dayly spredsheets/text/browsing work.
Well – i do not advice you to buy it , if you plan to use it for Graphic design or 3D animation / modeling

  3. For the price, it’s almost same everywhere.
    Eee PC 2G Surf $299
    Eee PC 4G Surf $349
    Eee PC 4G $399
    Eee PC 8G $499
Eee PC uses Linux, and it’s also able to run Windows XP.
So you can have it the same as your regular computer.
It’s able to boot up in Linux in 15 seconds
It’s able to boot up in XP Pro in about 35 seconds
So it’s very fast for the price.
In terms of drive space, if you do not plan to save too many movies or MP3s, it’s fine.
And of course there’s always the option of using SD Cards or External USB Drives.
The Eee PC is super portable and worth every penny.
