Question About Asus Eee Pc 1005ha Netbook?
Alright im thinking of buying a netbook computer and have pretty much decided on the Asus eee pc 1005HA. However When i look for it online there three versions of these computer. There’s the 1005HAB for 300 dollars at bestbuy, The 1005HAV for about 350 at bestbuy(330 Amazon) and the 1005HAP for about 370 at Amazon. I would like to know what are de differences between these models and is it really worth the differences in prices. Best answer goes to whoever explains the differences better
There are differences, but they are subtle and require a lot of digging to find out. Essentially, netbook manufacturers are constantly tweaking their products, and each manufacturing run winds up with a new model number.
The main differences are these:
Battery – (A fresh, new battery under normal use)
1005HAB – 3 cell battery, max. 4 hrs 20 min.
1005HAV – 6 cell battery, max, 8 hrs 30 min.
1005HAP – (probably 6 cell) rated at 10.5 hours
The longer battery life of the 1005HAP may be due to a better battery or better power conservation or both
Processor –
1005HAP has an Intel Atom N280, whille the
other two have the Intel Atom N270, slower by .06 Ghz
The difference in performance is negligible.
It is not clear if the 1005HAB has a backlit screen.
A backlight is not mentioned in the specs of the 1005HAP
either, but I suspect it has one.
I’ve included links to web pages showing specifications and benchmarks.
If I hadn’t purchased an Acer Aspire One several months ago, I would go with the 1005HAV at Amazon, as it seems to be the best value at the moment. If you think the 1005HAP looks better, you might want to wait a few months, as more improvements and lower prices are probably coming, as well as new model numbers.
