In the northern hemisphere, spring is always time for new things: sheep, leaves and Larrabee chip set. Yes, it is the Intel Developers Forum in Beijing, where Intel is showing off its latest kit for other producers.

Firstly, it has been on the Nehalem chipset, which has up to eight cores and uses simultaneous multi-threading at all given to four cores. Intel has shown the benefits of a 25 percent higher compared to the Penryn processors and up to a 33 percent reduction in energy consumption.  Read more... Another chipset from Intel, which apparently seems a little 'unhappy with the 10 or so chip set issued last year. The P45 is basically a stripped down, cheaper version of high-end X48 chipset-based boards. Funny, how things change. Previously, it was against Intel, AMD, NVIDIA and ATI Vs. But now it is compared to Intel NVIDIA, since the two monolithic chip companies increasingly connect into each other territory, and AMD and ATI are the background to appear for the moment. It almost seems as if something is just announced by Intel, NVIDIA has announced its own version of that something. Mobile processors are, of course, would become a big business for the coming years thanks to the success of Asus Eee PC and its army of clones.  Read more...
