SSD, Solid State Drive is a hard drive without moving parts. In a normal hard drive, there is a rotating disk spinning when in use.
Solid State Drive can be compared with a memory card in mobile phones, cameras and so on. N. moving parts, and that do not move it. Un po 'di ricerca later – and I decided to take the risk and try to Vista on the MacBook. And this is how:
1) The first thing after setting up my new white MacBook (2 GHz) to install and download the necessary updates Boot Camp (Boot Camp). Boot Camp is a partition manager and currently still available for free, as in the beta. Until then I had some concerns because I had only bought an update to an old 2K license I have a "clean" update anyway – so fingers crossed and hope for the best!
2) I read the file to the Boot Camp user before – that I would not know that the Win2K update was a little 'too ambitious! Fortunately, I did not open my Vista Home Premium upgrade could be a field back and buy the full version.
3) meets all the requirements, I took a deep breath and began the process of Mac OS X:
4) Read the file "Read Me" which, with Boot Camp
5) Print out the manual (or a second PC)
6) Installing Bootcamp – no problem – just double-click the file you just downloaded and follow the screens, I decided, for the 32GB FAT partition and probably the use of a laptop with a small external hard drive or maybe upgrade to a larger following.
7) During the procedure, you have a CD where Bootcamp will take the necessary Vista drivers for your MacBook.
The new MacBook and then directly into the Windows, and you are invited to the transaction you want to install. In my case the Vista Home Premium CD followed by the serial number. I also allowed the system to verify online. (You can upgrade from Microsoft Windows XP, but in this case to install XP first, and later with the update to Windows Vista).
9) Vista Installation started and about 30 minutes and a few new after all was ready!
This was the easiest OS installation I have ever had – and now have a choice of 10 OSX (Tiger) and Vista – on a beautiful elegant looking laptop – what more could I want ?????
I can not say much about performance, with this setting – but I do not point to the promised 6 hours maximum battery life Wink In view of the software under Vista – Firefox and Skype work, and of course Office applications. Giri area as if a firewall will be disappointed when I could not run just yet.
So far, so good – that's all I can report at the time, I thought, but let me know. Simply because when you are in a store and ask the staff – I have only a very weak smile when I wanted to buy Apple Mac + Vista, as well as some tips for buying "VistaforMac" (which, to my knowledge, no we are!) or emulator software.
