Whats The Difference Between An Apple Powerbook Notebook And An Apple Macbook Notebook?

The Powerbook series has now been discontinued. They have IBM G4 processors which are comparable to old P4 Mobile processors. Since IBM never served up a G5 processor for Apple notebooks Apple decided to team up with Intel and the result is the MacBook. These have faster dual core Intel Core Duo processors which are optimised for notebooks. They outperform G4s by a longshot, but that’s because they’re newer and an IBM G5 would’ve possibly been faster. Getting a MacBook isn’t going to be cheap but it has the benefit that maybe someday you’ll be able to run Windows on a Mac!
Powerbook G4 prices have come down because of the new Macbooks. Hope this clears things up.

  1. I would think that the Powerbook has better prosesers. I think that it is a goodo laptop if you are in the market for one, but of course, you can get a windows running laptop anyday, for less,a nd it will be better.
